A Beautiful New Tag

I decided it was time for Kendall to have a new tag to hang off of her collar. The old one just didn't match, and I wanted something that looked good. Whitney over at The Preppy Pink and Green Puppy recommended these great tags not too long ago on her blog. They're made by Nancy R. at Urban Puppy, an Etsy store. She makes tags out of silver, copper, and brass. Here's Kendall's new tag:
It matches her coat really nicely. I just had her name put on the tag since she has an info tag that is on the collar, itself. It's the kind that fits over the collar and doesn't hang down. And, of course, she's microchipped. I thought this nice name tag would be good for when we start our visiting as a Pet Partner team. (More on that this week.)

Here she is showing off the tag.

And trying to tell me that it's time to stop taking pictures.

Thanks, Nancy, for making the great tag!

Badge Photo

One of the last things I had to do for our Delta Society paperwork was send in a photo of Kendall and me for our ID badge. We ran over to work today so that my co-worker could take our picture.

Who doesn't love a parade?

We seem to have a knack for finding towns that are having festivals or parades. Saturday was Loyalty Days in Newport, OR, and it just so happened that they had a parade planned. The parade was in honor of our veterans.
There is a Coast Guard station in Newport, and they did the honors of carrying the first American flag in the parade. I just amazes me how many people don't stand when the flag comes by.

These were just some of the veterans in the parade. They were Vietnam veterans.

There were community groups, as well.

The Shriners were out in full force.
And Ronald McDonald made an appearance.

This was an interesting way to advertise a local fitness center.

This guy was with a local furniture company. He could actually steer the recliner with the knob in his hand.

I never knew the Oregon State Police had their own posse.

Kendall met this cute dog who is a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. She was a cutie.

You never know what you'll find on the beach!

Look what we found! Someone before us spelled out Kendall's name in driftwood. How did they know she was coming?

Beach Fun

There's something magical that happens to dogs' brains when you get them on the beach. They're more playful, they chase things you can't see, and they have the best times of their lives.

We made a quick trip to the Oregon coast this weekend and were lucky to have good weather. It only showered off and on, which is pretty good for Oregon in early May.
She's on the hunt for something she's sure she's going to able to catch; maybe one of those birds that keeps teasing her.
The tide was very low during our walk after breakfast.

We were at the mouth of the Siletz Bay. There were a number of seals in the water and laying on the beach.
Kendall's sure she can get to those birds. If only we'd let her go swimming.
We met a cute Corgi and his parents on their way out for a walk.

It was a beautiful day at the beach.

Shake, shake, shake

I got a chance to try out the high speed setting on my camera today. Look at those lips fly!
